introduction

Dengue NS1 Antigen test

PureChek Dengue NS1 Antigen Test Device is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of dengue virus NS1 Antigen to dengue virus in whole blood, serum or plasma to aid in the diagnosis of dengue viral infection. Dengue NS1 Antigen is found from the first day and up to 9 days after onset of fever in sample of primary or secondary dengue infected patients. Immune response includes IgM antibodies produced by the 3rd-5th day of symptoms and persist for 30-60 days. IgG antibodies appear near the 14th day and persist for life. Secondary infections often result in high fever and in many cases with hemorrhagic events and circulatory failure. Secondary infections show that IgG levels rise within 1-2 days after the onset of symptoms and induce an IgM response after 20 days of infection.

Principle
PureChek Dengue NS1 Antigen Test Device is a qualitative membrane strip based immunoassay for the detection of dengue virus NS1 Antigen in whole blood / serum / plasma. In this test procedure, anti-Dengue NS1 antibody is immobilized in the test line region of the device. After a whole blood/serum/plasma specimen is placed in the specimen well, it reacts with anti-Dengue NS1 antibody coated particles that have been applied to the specimen pad. This mixture migrates chromatographically along the length of the test strip and interacts with the immobilized anti-Dengue NS1 antibody. If the specimen contains dengue virus NS1 antigen, a colored line will appear in the test line region indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain dengue virus NS1 antigen, a colored line will not appear in this region indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear at the control line region indicating that membrane wicking has occurred.
